Recipes

Aloo Gobi

Ingredients:

  • 1 large cauliflower head, chopped into florets
  • 5 medium potatoes, peeled and chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions:

  1. In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the cumin seeds and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant.
  3. Add the onion, garlic, and ginger and cook until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the turmeric, cumin powder, coriander powder, and chili powder and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Add the cauliflower and potatoes and mix well.
  6. Cover the skillet and let cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender.
  7. Season with salt to taste and garnish with fresh cilantro.

Banana Bread

Ingredients:

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork.
  3. Add the melted butter and mix well.
  4. Add the baking soda, salt, sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract and mix well.
  5. Add the flour and mix until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 50-60 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
