Stylish IKEA Kitchen For Small Space

Now, let's move onto the kitchen. This IKEA space is the perfect example of how you don't need a huge kitchen to make it functional and stylish. The white cabinets against the black backsplash is such a bold choice that pays off big time. Plus, that hanging pot rack adds just the right amount of industrial-chic flair.

Now, onto the good stuff- the recipes! Because let's be real, even us minimalists need to eat. Below are a couple of my favorite recipes that are perfect for any minimalist kitchen.

Chickpea and Sweet Potato Stew

Ingredients:

  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 sweet potato, peeled and diced
  • 1 red pepper, diced
  • 1 can chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups vegetable broth
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the sweet potato and red pepper and cook for another 5 minutes.
  3. Add the chickpeas, diced tomatoes, vegetable broth, smoked paprika, cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine and cover the pot.
  4. Simmer for 20-25 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.
  5. Serve hot and enjoy!

Avocado Toast

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 2 slices of bread
  • 1/2 tsp red chili flakes
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. To prepare the avocado, cut it in half and remove the pit. Scoop the flesh into a bowl and mash it with a fork.
  2. To assemble the toast, lightly toast two slices of bread. Spread the mashed avocado on each slice and sprinkle with red chili flakes, salt, and pepper.
  3. Serve and enjoy!
